UPDATED 2026 Review: Freya High Octane Sports Bra for High-Impact Support (D–J Cups)
Share
Updated January 2026: I figured it was time to update this post because the Freya High Octane sports bra has been in the market for a couple of years and it’s become one of my top performing high-impact sports bras for bigger busts. Plus I wanted to share more customer reviews like this one:
"A+ for high impact exercise. Tried Freya on Alisa's recommendation as Enell wasn't quite right for me. Have found it super-supportive and comfortable, perfect for training for a half marathon with 16FF bust. Firm and supportive band but can still breathe ok and nice straps. Lifts and separates boobs and not just squished. Has clasp that can be used to make it a racerback, although I haven't tried this yet, but will do. Great investment, will be buying another."
From Epic… to even better
After years of customer feedback, Freya took one of our long-time favourites — the Freya Epic — and said, “Right. How do we make this even better for real boobs doing real workouts?”
And my customers noticed immediately:
"Fantastic supportive bra that is really comfortable - even for burpees and thrusters. Great for running and weight sessions too. I thoroughly recommend this bra."
Burpees and thrusters? If a bra survives that combo, it earns my respect!
"Most comfy bra I’ve ever worn and the padding keeps my girls warm and secure on my early morning winter runs. Fits perfectly (14D). No rubbing or chafing just comfortable."
Warm. Secure. No chafing. Honestly, what more do we want from a sports bra at 6am?
"I've got a few Freya Epic sports bras so thought I'd try the new version and have to say, it's a huge improvement. Love the moulded cups and the extra padding around the underwire. Highly recommend if you're looking for a high impact sports bra."
The High Octane keeps everything that worked — and fixed what didn’t:
-
Moulded inner cups: less rubbing, less irritation, more comfort on long runs
-
Silicone-padded wire casing: support without that angry under-boob feeling
-
Wider-set straps: better weight distribution and happier shoulders
-
Encapsulation design: lift and separation (not the dreaded sports-bra pancake)
- Optional racerback clasp: extra hold when things get sweaty and serious
In short: the Freya High Octane sports bra controls bounce, keeps its shape, and doesn’t punish you for having boobs and liking exercise.
Alisa's verdict
If you want a high-impact sports bra that works hard without being a pain in the tits, the Freya High Octane absolutely deserves a spot in your activewear rotation. The moulded cups ensure you have 100% boob seperation and great shape. Don't be put off when you first see it (it can look a tad big) because once the Freya is on, you'll feel the difference.
It’s supportive enough for running, tough enough for HIIT, comfortable enough for long sessions so perfect for horse riding - and I love the lift and separation instead of squashing everything flat.
